What is Tensegrity?

What is Tensegrity?

What is Tensegrity?

What is tensegrity?

In the 1960’s, American architect Buckminster Fuller coined the term Tensegrity to describe a structural principle of a balance between tension and compression where the compressed members, usually bars or struts, are held up by the tensioned members, usually wires or cables.  Like many structural principles, tensegrity is not unique to objects like bridges and buildings. Examples of tensegrity can be seen in all aspects of nature including mammals, insects, and even plants. While tensegrity exists in our biological structures like connective tissue, cell membranes, and even DNA, Tensegrity can even be seen when looking at nature with the naked eye. A sway backed horse, a wilted plant, and even a breakdown in the exoskeleton of an insect are all great examples of a loss of tensegrity.

So why is tensegrity so important?

Biological materials like collagen, connective tissue, cellulose in plants, and chiton in insects are all piezoelectric.  Meaning, when a mechanical force is applied, they create an electric charge. This piezoelectric charge, which is created through tensegrity, is responsible for all aspects of health… it is literally the spark of life. Western medicine is currently using piezoelectricity to treat a variety of health issues including dementia, depression, osteoporosis, hormone imbalances, and even cancer. And while this treatment has seen some success, Primalized Health Consultants have discovered a more efficient way to treat these conditions using piezoelectricity… create it yourself simply by changing the way you stand and move. By standing and moving on the balls of your feet in proper alignment with your chest up and your chin in, you are putting your body into tensegrity which applies the mechanical force necessary for your body to create its own piezoelectric current. A process we call Primalization.

How do we know this is possible?

Tensegrity and piezoelectricity are not new concepts. In fact, humans have been in tensegrity in varying degrees since the beginning of time. Anthropological studies have shown that ancient man walked upright, in proper alignment, and on the balls of his feet when he was healthy and food was plentiful. Humans maintained a gait that was light on the heels up to the time of the Great Depression. This marked a time in our modern history when humans lacked resources and even basic needs. As a result of this need to conserve, we adopted a gait that burns significantly less energy and a way of eating that encourages the storage of fat. Hence the current norm… balancing on the heels while standing; moving with a heavy heel strike, with the back rounded, and the head forward; and eating too much too often. The results of this norm are the scary statistics we witness every day… currently 1 in 2 women will develop dementia, parkinsons, or have a stroke in her lifetime; almost 20% of our current youth suffer from depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder; 1 in 10 Americans will develop an autoimmune disease in their lifetime, and a national obesity rate of almost 40%.

The good news is that through Primalization, you can prevent and even reverse the effects of years lived out of tensegrity. It’s never too late to be the best you you can be, and Primalized Health Consultants are here to help!
